Damask roses produce large, fragrant flowers and are deciduous shrubs. Their petals are soft and velvety, often ranging from pale pink to dark red.

Damask roses have a long history dating back thousands of years. They originate from the Damascus region of Syria, from which they take their name. They also thrive in areas with favorable climatic conditions, particularly a hot, dry climate with seasonal variations. The harvest of Damask rose blossoms typically takes place early in the morning, when the roses are fresh and their fragrance is at its peak.
