Silver Fir Essential Oil is steam distilled from the fresh needle-bearing branches of Abies alba, a majestic conifer native to the mountain forests of Europe. Its aroma is distinctly forest-like: fresh, green, resinous and woody, with a subtle citrus nuance.

Traditionally associated with respiratory wellness and physical vitality, Silver Fir is particularly suited to periods of physical tiredness, demanding days and after-activity routines. Its fresh coniferous aroma brings the feeling of walking through a cool mountain forest, making it a beautiful oil for diffusion when you want to create a fresh, revitalising atmosphere.

Silver Fir also has an established place in aromatic massage traditions for muscles and joints. It is especially relevant after physical activity or whenever the body feels tired, stiff or overworked.

At the same time, its forest aroma has a grounding quality. This combination of freshness, vitality and connection with nature makes Silver Fir a versatile essential oil for both physical and aromatic wellness routines.

The aromatic branches and needles of conifers have also long been valued for their characteristic fresh forest fragrance. Today, Silver Fir Essential Oil continues this tradition through diffusion, aromatic inhalation and body massage.

In aromatic body care, Silver Fir is particularly associated with tired muscles and joints, physical fatigue and recovery after activity.

Scots Pine
Strengthens Silver Fir's fresh woodland character. A particularly good combination for respiratory-focused diffusion, aroma inhalers and invigorating blends when you want that unmistakable feeling of fresh forest air.

Eucalyptus globulus
Adds a penetrating, fresh eucalyptus note to Silver Fir's softer resinous aroma. Well suited to seasonal diffusion and fresh-breathing aromatic rituals.

Ravintsara
Pairs Silver Fir's green coniferous notes with Ravintsara's fresh, camphoraceous character. A useful combination for seasonal and respiratory-focused aromatic blends.

Peppermint
Adds an intensely fresh, cooling dimension. Particularly useful when Silver Fir is being used in invigorating blends for physical fatigue, recovery and mental freshness.

Lavender
Softens Silver Fir's sharper green and resinous character. A good choice for muscle and joint massage when you want the blend to feel more soothing and relaxing rather than strongly stimulating.

Rosemary
Creates a stimulating, herbaceous and forest-like combination particularly suited to vitality, physical recovery and massage blends for tired muscles.

Atlas Cedarwood
Adds warmth, depth and grounding woody notes beneath Silver Fir's fresher conifer aroma. Excellent for forest-inspired diffusion blends that feel grounded without losing their freshness.

Frankincense

Sweet Orange
The soft citrus sweetness rounds out Silver Fir's resinous green notes and brings forward its subtle natural citrus character. A good choice when you want a brighter and more approachable forest diffusion blend.

A little history

Silver Fir, Abies alba, is one of Europe's great native conifers and has been part of the landscape and daily life of mountain communities for centuries.

Its Latin name tells part of its story. Abies is the classical Latin name for the fir tree, while alba means "white", referring to the pale, silvery appearance of the underside of its needles and its characteristically light bark.

The tree is native to the mountainous regions of central and southern Europe and is strongly associated with cool forests and highland landscapes. Fir wood has historically been valued for construction and craftsmanship, while the aromatic young shoots had a place in domestic preparations.

In spring, the tender young shoots were gathered and transformed into teas, syrups and even sweets. This seasonal harvesting tradition reflects how closely European mountain communities once followed the annual rhythm of the forest.
